From the 19th to the 23rd of August 2009, gamescom finds its way to Cologne for the first time. But beside the presentation of new games on the fair grounds, the fair also has a sensational supporting programme in the city to offer. In addition to the opening concert, another highlight will take place on Saturday (22 August) in the LANXESS Arena. 12.000 gaming enthusiasts and night owls will be partying under the motto UNITEDRESPECT at a top-class event. The extraordinary line-up, a gathering of interantional top DJs alone will be taking care of that. First headliner of the night will be no less than David Guetta, followed by Axwell, DJ Hell and Lexy & K-Paul. And even more events are something to look forward to. UNITEDRESPECT combines the sound with incredible light-, pyro- and sound-technics. The acts are presented on a design-oriented stage with a width of more than 30 meters. Integrated therein are the VIP area and another dancefloor. The stage will be set in scene by huge rear-projection and LED surfaces, among other things.
UNITEDRESPECT stands, as the name already suggests, for mutual respect and is the influence behind the socially oriented international initiative of the same name. UNITEDRESPECT creates acceptance and tolerance between people: This major musical event offers a meeting between the hippest artists and the universal idea of building bridges between the different cultures – by means of the world’s “only” universal language – music. At the same time, buying a ticket supports, for instance, relief projects for socially week and unprivileged children.
